    It’s even biblical!

2 Kings 2:23-25 Some Boys Make Fun of Elisha

23 Elisha went from that city to Bethel. He was walking up the hill to the city, and some boys were coming down out of the city. They began making fun of him. They said, “Go away, you bald-headed man! Go away, you bald-headed man!”

24 Elisha looked back and saw them. He asked the Lord to cause bad things to happen to them. Then two bears came out of the forest and attacked the boys. There were 42 boys ripped apart by the bears.

25 Elisha left Bethel and went to Mount Carmel and from there he went back to Samaria.

Is this the oldest record of someone smiling at the audience in response to something in universe? Like “Jimming the camera”?

Last time I went to a church, they made people take their hats off, didn’t they do so back then? Or maybe they made an exception for “milliner’s junk”.

Probably depends on the church. I’ve been to one where some people sometimes wear pajamas.

Women generally keep their hats on in churches, to represent humility before the Lord, men take their hats off, for the same reason.
