Now, I never created an onlyfans account, but today I got two emails from them: one asking to confirm an email account, and one confirming its cancellation. Was that a hack going around or just bad luck on my end? I already changed passwords and everything, just wondering if anyone else had a problem like this.

Sounds like someone accidentally created an account with your name. As someone who has [email protected] this happens a lot. About 10 years ago, amazon.ca allowed you to create an account and start using it without verifying control of the email address. I woke up one day and saw all orders someone made, their address, last 4 digits of their credit card number, etc. Customer service doesn’t care. Ended up having to reset their password to get them to stop.

I had a friend from college (female) who had some guy with the same name in Atlanta constantly using her email to sign up for things, like gym membership, dating sites, utility bills, etc. This went on for a decade at least. She even tried calling some of the companies to try and get his phone number. I’m not sure how she ever got it to stop.

I used to get ukrainian emails every now and then. And then once I got a “confirm your signature to the petition” email and I checked. It was a petition to allow men to leave the country. A girl with my name signed it (wanted to sign it), and she stated wanting to leave with her 58 year old dad as the reason.

I ended up signing the petition myself, stating I wanted XY to leave with her dad as the reason.

I still wish there was a way to get in touch with her. I guess it was the same person who every now and then signed up for newsletters etc. I hope they found a way to leave. I wish there was a way I could help her directly. I keep imagining it was me and my dad stuck in a war torn country. My father has a super popular first name so the chances aren’t even that low that our dads share the same name too.

I was a sleep walker as a kid. I’d have vivid dreams that made sense in the dream, but were complete jibberish to anyone who saw me acting them out.

One time a babysitter saw me doing this, thought I was awake, and argued with me.

All the babysitter saw was me open the door to her room, walk past her, dragging a blanket behind me, and attempt to open the door to the hallway that lead down a flight of stairs.

She asked “Where are you going?” And I just said “Pittsburgh”. She was like “You’re not going to Pittsburgh! How would you even get there?”

And I said “The bus is going to Pittsburgh.”

And she said “Why are you bringing my blanket to Pittsburgh?”

      And I said “What blanket?”

And said “The one in your hand.”

      I said “Thats a football.”

And she starts laughing, and asks “Why are you bringing a football to Pittsburgh???”

And I said “The Browns need this football. They’re waiting for me.”

And she could not stop laughing, but also making sure I didn’t walk down the stairs. By now realizing I’m not awake. Her fear was that I’d just fall down the stairs. She didn’t realize that at home I sleep walked down stairs all the time. Like…nightly.

She just kept laughing, which in my dream, she was the teacher, and she wouldn’t let me step on the bus, and was openly laughing at me, for trying to deliver the ceremonial opening season football on Monday Night Football. This was in the late 80s, when the Browns weren’t a joke.

I kept telling the teacher to step aside, because I had destiny ahead of me. And everything I said, made my teacher laugh more and more at how she thought I was stupid for thinking she’d let me on the bus.

Back in reality, the babysitter was hearing me talk more and more insane. And she found it hilarious, but didn’t want me to fall down the stairs.

The next morning, my babysitter made fun of me.

It’s just spam, they’re hoping you’ll open the link in it. It doesn’t matter if your name is in it, companies have been remarkably irresponsible and incompetent with data leaks lately so you may as well consider yourself identified in that regard.

Don’t open shit you didn’t ask for and even then verify it.

When some internet stranger manage to enrage me more than usual, I sign up for a porn site with their email address.

Who did you piss off lately? :)

Either phishing (send fake link, get you to enter password), or someone messing with you by signing up with your email

If you never created an account, how and why did you change a password? Did you actually click links from the emails?
