This shit is terrible, but I fail to see how the airline is responsible for this. Are they expected to run a background check on everyone who purchases a ticket? Are people with criminal records going to be placed on no-fly lists? What does this lawsuit hope to accomplish?
According to the article the airline immediately moved her to a different seat and escourted the guy off the plan after landing. I’m also not sure what they could have done prior to the attack.
I could see her suing for the guys name or something, and then dealing with him. But it doesn’t appear she’s doing anything like that.
That’s a horrible experience and I feel bad for the lady. But I’m not sure what else the flight attendants could have done.
"she quickly managed to wake her friend, who reported the alleged assault to a flight attendant. The woman was switched to a different seat for the remainder of the flight, according to the lawsuit.
Once the aircraft landed, the man was “escorted off the plane,” and authorities took reports from the victim and other passengers who witnessed the attack, the lawsuit states. It “is unknown whether the Perpetrator was taken into custody and/or ever charged with the sexual assault of Plaintiff,” according to the suit."
It sounds like everyone did everything possible. If the guy wasn’t taken into custody or charged, that’s on the cops and the DA, not the airline.
