WASHINGTON, D.C. – Americans’ enthusiasm about voting in this year’s election has surged in recent months, with 69% of U.S. adults now saying they are “more enthusiastic than usual” about voting. This is up from 54% in March.

Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents are largely driving the surge in enthusiasm nationally. In March, 55% of Democrats and Democratic leaners said they were more enthusiastic than usual about voting; now, 78% are. Republicans and Republican leaners, who held a slight edge in enthusiasm in March, now trail Democrats by a significant margin, with their current 64% enthusiasm score up slightly from 59% in the spring.

Shit it was -2 out of 10 Democrats enthusiastic about anything 3 months ago.

What a difference a day makes.

Doesn’t matter if they’re enthusiastic or not, if they don’t vote. They’d just do 2016 again by sheer complacency.

I’m sure most of that comes from not having to vote for Biden. I am not thrilled with Kamala because it will just end up being much of the same with merely progressive lip service. It is kind of exciting to vote for a president who isn’t a decade past retirement

Well, from the outside (and by that I mean us citizen but not party affiliated at all), of course they are.

In terms of democrat voters, it took until this century for anyone not white or male to vote for, and until now for a non-white non-male.

But the party has been pretty much the only viable party for non white, non cishet, non male voters, period. Notice viable in there.

So, yeah, there’s a ton of democrat voters that are excited. Hell, I’m not a Harris supporter, and I’m still hyped to see someone that isn’t an old, rich white dude on the ticket. It’s almost like the party is trying to represent the people that have voted their way for my entire lifetime so far.
