Another disaster for Lionsgate and just three weeks after release.
So people can not watch it at home too.
I saw the Pitch Meeting take on it. Does that count?
I saw a Lemmy comment summarizing it in like 5 sentences and honestly that felt like watching it to.
What a garbage twist and plot.
Not even that would tempt me to rewatch it.
This remake just made me wonder if the original source material is even any good. It’s not just the way they are filmed; the story itself kinda sucks.
I didn’t see the original until about a year ago, and I thought it was good but not amazing. I think it was a “time and place” thing, and the style and Brandon Lee legend appealed to a lot of teenaged kids. I suspect the remake just comes across as “trying too hard.”
Yeesh, they have Megalopolis next month, and that’s gonna tank, too. Lionsgate isn’t looking so hot.
People are actually interested in what Megalopolis is though. No one cared about the crow reboot.
Now that one I will watch, because it’s bound to be fascinating regardless of how bad it is.
I’d like to play my uninformed conspiracy theory card. Some people are making bank off this trash, and Lionsgate is just a vehicle they wrecked along the way.
Would explain an awful lot about the state of cinema lately.
