On some farmland in southeast MO. Big weekend with friends we do every year. We were the first ones in and last ones out.
How much does that pop-up weigh and do you tow with the Subaru? I have a similar setup and I’m always worried about overloading.
It’s 1800lbs dry, or at least that’s what I told the state of Kansas. My Outback Wilderness is one of the trim levels that can tow up to 3500lbs, so it handles it just fine.
That’s a sick pop up. Long term I think we want to get one or build a camper van - until then tent life is just fine.
It was a years-long progression through bigger and better tents before we got here.
Pretty puppy!
His name is Hermann. 😄
Hermann the German! Love it!
A GSD and a ball. Dog and dog’s best friend.
He is 110% toy-driven.
How do you like the popup? Debating getting one currently, 2 adults + 2 kids. Anything to look out for?
We love it. It’s a game changer as far as comfort and general campsite vibe.
I don’t really know anything that you won’t find in all manner of popup-related youtube videos, but I will say that the one thing that caught me off guard was that the lug nuts on the camper’s wheels are a different size than the ones on my car. Anyone who pulls trailers probably knows this (and I know it now…) but I didn’t know it before we got a flat tire 300 miles in to our very first trip with it. We had to unhook and leave the camper on a county road while we drove 9 miles to the nearest AutoZone to get a socket that fit. And this leads in to the other lesson I learned quickly - when jacking the trailer up, make sure it is attached to your tow vehicle, or else it is not stable enough to do this repair.
