    For the vast amount of human evolution, just saying “fuck it” for a couple days and not doing shit wasn’t really a big deal.

    3 square meals is a relatively new thing, and even without a community to support them during those periods, a couple days without food wouldn’t kill someone. And at the end you’d have a clear goal and motivation, which would pull you out of the funk.

    Hell. Moping might have even been a safety mechanism. If you’re always out running around when you don’t need resources, you’re risking you’re safety for nothing. Evolutionarily speaking, it’s unnecessary risks.

      That’s not really a great comparison when you consider that for the vast amount of human evolution, most people were NOT increasing shareholder value.
