    Edit: it is for all non-consenting citizens, I had skimmed the article and missed the part where they mentioned that. Poor reporting, focusing on actors when they were the only ones who already had protection from industry. Original incorrect comment below:

    Would be nice if they made it illegal to impersonate any non-consenting human, rather than just this one class. California has a long history of not thinking through their laws and passing them quickly for good press though (see: prop 65)

    Studios will also be prohibited from cloning deceased actors unless they have permission from their estates.

    I’m curious how long this extends for, does it essentially become a sort of actor’s copyright that extends in perpetuity, forever and ever, or is it just standard copyright time (which potentially Disney will just keep pushing back)?
