You’d think they’d be able to recognize the one named after a mad king vs the one named after a saint.
They like the mad king. They have one of their own.
So that much weirder that they chose the saintly Georgia.
The funniest part is that the state of Georgia has somewhat similar landscapes they could have used. They just didn’t bother checking. I’m guessing those flowers are not found in abundance on the mountainsides of the U.S. state.

In 2014 when Russia invaded Georgia, my grandfather rushed out to the gun store to stock up because “it’s only a matter of time before they get to Texas.” It took about a week to convince him that there was a country in Europe that was formerly part of the soviet union called Georgia as well and I don’t think he ever really believed it.
To be fair, it isn’t a terrible idea to merge entities that have the same name, regardless of context or consequence.
Georgia: Georgia (country), Georgia (US State), and South Georgia (the UK overseas island territory)
Washington: Washington State and Washington DC
Carolina: North and South Carolina
Dakota: North and South Dakota
Virginia: Virginia and West Virginia
For funsies let’s do it with companies as well

If there’s another January 6th, hopefully the folks who want to participate in the insurrection travel to Washington State, not DC.
Why would you wish that upon the good people of Washington state?

I was really expecting this to be about any of the many Springfields that are not located just east of Dayton
That would have been far less stupid.
And people still think they should be in charge of the pointy ends aimed outwards and at citizens and can be trusted to get it right.
This is a simple mistake anyone could make. OTOH, something about that pic doesn’t say Georgia, USA to me. Flowers like that in the South? And the greenery would be more lush.
