    I served in the US Air Force for 20 years. Ever since I was 18, AF was always the abbreviation for Air Force.

    So when “AF” suddenly entered the common lingo as “as fuck,” it really threw me and my coworkers for a loop. Suddenly, everyone seemed to be talking about the Air Force, but the context didn’t make any sense at all! It took a while before we learned that it meant something totally different.

    … And then we felt old and out of touch.

          Most air forces are radical. Go watch a video of any jet going at Mach speeds and tell me it isn’t rad.

            I’m not disagreeing with you but Destin from smarter everyday had a video where he did a ride along in an Air Force fighter jet and by far the least interesting part of the video was when they broke the sound barrier and were flying super sonic. They were up at like cruising altitude though so that’s the main reason it was mostly uninteresting.

              That’s true. Flying at cruise altitude is pretty boring if you aren’t the pilot.

              What’s better: seeing one in person. Been there, its bone rattling. It took me the entire ride home to recover.
