It’s funny this guy is absolutely gonna try to run for president in 2028 and whoever the republicans manage to put up is just gonna have to say “Commiefornia” and it’ll completely obliterate his run despite him basically being a diet republican anyway.
Yeah, he’s always been an opportunist, but at this point he’s pissing away any positive legacy he had as a firebrand liberal just for a cynical run for office that will inevitably fail.
This would be like Ted Cruz suddenly turning into a moderate liberal to try to ingratiate himself to voters. It won’t work. The electorate’s memory generally sucks, but there’s no way they would forget a political switch this jarring.

The electorate pales in importance and definitely doesn’t care about AI safety. This is about appeasing the money.
