A national abortion ban—or whatever they want to call it—is more than a remote possibility.

JD Vance outright lied about his calls for a national abortion ban during Tuesday night’s vice-presidential debate, falsely declaring he “never supported a national ban.” That is categorically untrue and yet another reason why no one should believe him or Donald Trump when they make promises about reproductive rights, which they will absolutely shred given the opportunity.

But, first, a quick fact-check regarding Vance’s debate claim. In 2022, while running for Senate in Ohio, Vance said on a podcast, “I certainly would like abortion to be illegal nationally.” During that same campaign, he stated on his website for all the world to see that he was “100 percent pro-life” and that he was in favor of “eliminating abortion.” In fact, those words were on Vance’s website until July of this year, when Trump announced the senator as his running mate.

Yes, JD Vance lied about abortion, and no, you shouldn’t trust anything he or Donald Trump says.

    Title fix :)

Before the 2016 election Trump had a civil trial over allegations that ‘Trump University’ was nothing more than a scam to fleece the gullible out of their money.

Trump made a settlement, which basically admitted that he’d ripped off the average citizen.

I brought this up to a MAGoo.

Their take was that the students deserved to be robbed because they hadn’t read the terms and conditions.

Trump’s people know he’s a liar. They just think he won’t lie to them.

Admittedly, I never read the terms and conditions for the university I attended…

Maybe that’s on me, but I seriously doubt there were any. That’s not really a normal thing an institute of higher learning would have, afaik…

      What a bizarre contortion.

Similar story form before the 2016 election.

MAGoo woman goes on The View TV show to defend Donnie’s ‘pussy grabber’ tape.

One of the other panelists keeps repeating the word ‘pussy’ over and over again.

Trump’s lady demands that the other woman stop using that offensive term.

No, there definitely were. They were probably more related to conduct on campus, grading, and how to handle issues with professors, though.

Also, you didn’t really need to read the terms and conditions to know Trump University was a scam; a quick Google would suffice

Don’t have to google. It’s in the name. Anything with the trump name attached to it is garbage or a scam and probably both.

“If I have to create stories so that the American media actually has to pay attention to the suffering of American people, then that’s what I’m going to do,”

They are: they’re concerned that women might have their own ideas and not submit to a man’s control.

It’s enough for the admins and mods to ignore their user base for months in order to allow rightwing propaganda on Lemmy. So I assume they get paid pretty well.
