        Fun fact: Treebeard also played one of the dwarves. It took 36 hours of makeup every morning to achieve the effect.

    So Jackson wasn’t making a movie based on Tolkien’s books, he was doing just as Tolkien had and simply documenting the actual history of Middle Earth.
