Krummlauf
It’s for clearing buildings and trenches, anywhere the tank commander might want to shoot around corners while staying in the safety of cover
I always think the funniest thing about those guns is how everyone was surprised that they mostly work.
Yes, but IIRC only for a limited amount of rounds, after which the whole gun is rendered junk
afaik, it’s still around something like 150 rounds, and just the barrel (and bullets) that get destroyed. Like every other shot comes out more as a tiny shotgun shot than a bullet.
I’m surprised that nobody came up with a gizmo for holding a regular rifle around a corner while keeping the human body behind it.
Yup. And for something intended for field use only (no target practice), that’s totally fine. If you’re so up close and personal that you’re needing to shoot around corners and don’t need great precision, it’s not like it’ll need to last much longer anyway, just grab a new one for each op.
Bullets are surprisingly willing to redirect.
Had some problems.
yuo see, it’s asymmetric warfare
alternatively
if we don’t know where we’ll be shooting at, then neither will enemy
i’ve seen one russian tank ramming its barrel into a tree head on. this probably doesn’t matter because it’d be destroyed by now anyway
Hangs a little to the right. Huh.
You’ve got to switch hit or it ends up like that
That’s what happens when the vehicle commander forgets to make sure the barrel clears an obstacle the vehicle is about to drive past.
For all your horizontal defilade fire needs.
It’s no problem, all you need is a good hefty straighten-outer shot to straighten out the barrel.
That barrel has gone to plaid.
It’s to curve the shell round corners during urban warfare. Everyone knows that.
Hmm, so the tank version of Wanted?
Our dog only twitches his nose to the left.
I’ve never seen one before, no one has, but I’m guessing it’s a white hole
