Seems like a case of ye ol ‘Joke indicating this person is horribly stupid but can also be easily understood as a racism joke’ but it’s not gonna help Carlito that he apparently added it on off the cuff.
WWE should have HR talk to him, maybe have a company wide meeting about it and explain this is how you end up getting completely scripted again. If Damage CTRL, even just one member, was upset by this, he should receive some form of needing to complete a training course or suspension.
Watching the clip, I think it’s more in line with his character being an idiot. I can see why some people are upset by it, but some of the commentary around this has been insane, the man doesn’t deserve to be fired for doing something millions of people across the globe do every day. He needs to be informed it’s unacceptable and why it was unacceptable and then he should face hard repercussions if it happens again.
Casual racism like this is ingrained in most communities at least throughout the USA, Reddit’s discussion on this says it’s everywhere, and it’s hard to break, in my area most people still call every Latino person Mexican and very few people will call it out and I live in one of the most diverse counties in our state. Basically humans suck and stomping out micro-aggression’s like this is hard.

Also doesn’t help that Iyo has had that racist moment with an NXT fan calling her chinese (‘I’m Japanese, bitch.’) in the past. We’ll see what happens I guess!
