Oh, I would really miss the horror subreddit if I’m forced to move. Anyone around…?

The cool thing about Lemmy is that due to lack of algorithms, while I wasn’t subbed to the horror Reddit before, I both saw and have taken an interest in it here because of your post.

What kind of content would you be interested in if the community here came to life?

Movies, books, art, really anything related to horror. I really like the /r/horrorlit subreddit, but I think Lemmy is probably too small to fragment the different horror interests.

StokerCon is in just 10 days, so a lot of my friends and others in the horror community are buzzing about that right now. I’m attending and moderating a panel on AI, and I have a story in the Mother: Tales of Love and Terror anthology that’s up for Super Achievement, so much to be excited about!

        Wow cool, that is exciting.

For now I think you are right its a bit too small, but in the mean time, I think my plan is just to try to create some content on Lemmy to get the ball rolling.

The more content there is, the more people stick around I feel, so its just a matter of creating stuff, posting it, and linking it elsewhere to get things to snowball.

Regardless, I have subscribed so if you post anything here I will be glad to read it!

Only we can make that live, which in deathless slumber lies.

So yes, I hope this place will thrive.

I’ve just joined. Thinking about writing some short horror fiction stories and posting them.

Would this be the place to post such things?

Not a huge fan of The Witch. Didn’t really like the slow burn on it for some reason, maybe it was because it was predictable.

I’m a huge fan of classic slashers (halloween, friday, scream, elm, texas) and just an all around variety.

The Void Hereditary/Midsommar/Beau is Afraid Cabin in the Woods Evil Dead The Thing Hellraiser (Part 1 only)

Just off top, so many more but horrors my favorite genre

Obvious favourites: The Thing, Dawn of the Dead, Evil Dead 2

Besides those… Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992), Phantasm 2, The Void, 30 Days of Night, Ginger Snaps, The Battery, Byzantium, Spring, American Werewolf in London, Return of the Living Dead, The Lighthouse, Dog Soldiers, Possessor

(I’m sure there’s more, but that’s all I can think of right now) =)
