That’s all beautiful and all, but it being at a weird angle to the walls makes my teeth hurt.

It’s even worse if you look at the satellite picture. The castle is not even centered in the outside perimeter walls and the outside walls aren’t square. Someone hired the medieval equivalent of a shitty contractor.

I’d be ok with it being off-center, I could add like a backyard lounge/skeet feature to balance it out. but THE FUCKIN DRIVEWAY IS SIDEWAYS! Makes me so irrationally angry lmao probably took them like 5 years to and 7 serfs lives to build it too. I’d be so embarrassed in front of all my other royal friends.

Symmetry and aesthetic spacing were not on their list at all

I’d wake up every morning so mildly irritated if I lived there. Like sure, I’m living in a beautiful French chateau, but is it all worth 14°!!! The fuckin MESH WIFI doesn’t go through stone!!

Okay so either my sense of perspective is fucked or the inner area of the wall is elevated and the castle is skew in reference to the wall.

Edit: the wall isn’t square. looking at this castle from any angle gives me a goddamn headache.

The chateau may be in ruins, but someone’s keeping the lawn looking nice.

This gives me an idea for a fort. Make surrounding roads, plateau, spaces perfectly suited for archers or canons but with like rocks and rows of dirt between them all and then rotate the fort plan in the center of it all 45 degrees so all of the shots deflect off the walls.

I call it “Banjo’s Gamble Fortress”.
