Trump said at one point that he would not come to Taiwans help if China attacks. With the stagnating chinese economy, China has 4 years to attack Taiwan without the US intervening. Musk tries to move his supply chain out of Taiwan before China makes the move.

Looking forward to SpaceX and Tesla both having serious issues because of Trump’s asinine tariffs.
SpaceX will for sure be exempt. Justification will probably be national defense, which is a decent justification to be honest.
Tesla, probably lumped in there because there is a lot of cross-work between Tesla and SpaceX with battery tech, electric motors, engineering, etc.
It won’t affect them at all.
Imagine thinking Taiwan would be dumb enough to allow that.
