I just sent this to Biden & Harris via the White House contact page https://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/. I share in case you would like to add your voice and may find it helpful to have a pre-existing template to use or edit. Please feel free to share with others as you see fit.

Best, Atelopus-zeteki

I would like to add my voice in the call for a recount of the 2024 presidential election. I would also like to ask that you conduct a full investigation into tampering, interference, and fraud for this election.

· 32 bomb threats were called into democratic leaning polling places in swing states, causing them to be closed for extended periods of time on Election Day.

· At least one bomb threat was called into a vote counting center.

· Polling locations were closed while voters were still in line to vote.

· Multiple Ballot drop boxes were set on fire, in democratic leaning areas, losing thousands of ballots.

· Many voters reported not receiving mail in ballots, while districts apparently had not sent thousands of them.

· Hundreds of people in swing states are reporting that their votes have not been counted or even have never been received, though they were dropped off/mailed on time

· Some voters also reported instances of their outgoing mail not being picked up after placing their ballot in their mailbox.

· Voters also reported having their ballots invalidated for reasons such as invalid signatures, and given no chance to fix it.

We cannot allow election interference. Please order a recount as soon as possible.

The American people do not trust the results of this election. The people are concerned that there is outside interference – from foreign governments and from private corporations at least – in our election. We are concerned that this was not a free and fair election. We are concerned that we are being lied to and a dictator is trying to take over our government. I am begging you to do everything in your power to stop this from taking place. Thank you very much for your time and attention to this matter.

This reads the same as the conspiracy theorist bullshit we made fun of the Republicans for after 2020 election. Some hypocritical stuff here. Numerous reports have already come out stating no evidence of tampering. Same as in 2020.

This part especially is a reach:

Hundreds of people in swing states are reporting that their votes have not been counted or even have never been received, though they were dropped off/mailed on time

How would people know if their votes are counted or not? In addition, there were no states that “hundreds” of votes will make a difference.

I got an initial email when my ballot was mailed to me and then another confirming it was received and counted after returning it.

That’s neat! Do all states do it that way?

I do recall hearing something that some states won’t count mail in ballots unless it might make a difference, was that the case this year?

You can check online as it’s public record. While you cannot see who you voted for, you can see if you voted or not, and I belive (not 100% sure) it also shows if your vote was counted or not.

I don’t think that would be statistically significant. Exit polls are pretty accurate, and I don’t think anyone can deny Trump won in a landslide. Not that I’m happy about that. </democracy>

A recount won’t find the 10 million votes needed to win. This election was won with only a little more votes for Trump than he lost with 2020. People feel disenfranchised and powerless, and it showed up as apathy and fewer voters.

I think it’s less apathy and more that 2020 pushed vote by mail hard due to the covid restrictions. That ended up inflating the turnout, and I’m sure you know, when more people vote, Democrats win.

Without that same VBM push, turnout dropped.

      2020:

      Biden - 81,283,501
      Trump - 74,223,975

      2024* (so far):

      Trump - 74,846,364
      Harris - 71,259,005

Trump never relied on vote by mail, and, in fact, told his supporters not to do it. His numbers didn’t effectively change +622,389 out of 74,846,364 = +0.8%

Joe DID and now we see the results… 10 million lost votes.

Well, consider the numbers in https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/post/18340229

It’s older so based on older numbers, but the estimates from there line up pretty well with the total sum as of right now.

Basically, if turnout was depressed, it was only in the deep blue (and maybe deep red) - where it didn’t matter. In the swing states, turnout was higher for both sides in 2024 than in 2020 - and that’s even before trying to account for the peculiarities of the 2020 vote.

Still exists, but the restrictions on using it were set aside for Covid, that drove participation up.

In some states, you didn’t even have to request a mail in ballot, they were just sent out, that didn’t happen in 2024 unless you were already in a vote by mail state.

People are idiots. They had enough power to get Biden, they would’ve had enough power to get Harris. Truth of the matter is that Trump won because they either did not vote, or voted for the shitface fascist.

You need millions of votes across several states, not a few thousand. If they were going to steal this election, it was going to be through the courts.

I doubt there were any widespread fraud in the count itself.

The republicans did do voter roll purges which are undemocratic, but technically legal and I don’t think we can do anything about that besides changing election laws.

But other than that, the count itself seems legit to me. Remember, this isn’t russia, we have election observers from both the democratic party and some non affiliate observers. They would’ve said something if there was fraud during the election or the counting.

So the only problems seems to be before the election.

Voter Roll purges - changes in legislations are required to prevent that, as far as I know, they are technically legal. a recount does nothing about voter roll purges

Preventing mail ballots from arriving, such as attacking ballot boxes - burned ballots unfortunately cannot be undone. you cannot prove who voted for who, or whose ballots were even in there. we dont have a time machine. theres no legal mechanism to re-do an election because of this. a recount doesnt fix this in any way.

Bomb threats to voting places - in many of those cases, closing time was delayed to make up for the evacuations, in one instance, people just waited outside in the parking lot according to an election worker, most of them came back in later and voted. various news sources reports that there doesnt seems to be a huge impact of the number of people voting. again, a recount does nothing about this.

Most voters decided to accept fascism, its over. Accept that we have fascism for the next 4 years and depending on if elections still exist in 2028, we’ll see if fascism is here to stay or will it go away for 4 years.

Will they exist in 2028? To me this is a bigger question that no one else seems to want to answer.

orange voldemort is already constitutionally ineligible to run for re-election but has expressed interest in running for a third time. Has anyone heard any plans about what may be afoot here to enable him?

My worst fears have been realized. Republicans have taken control of the House. There are now no safeguards.

My prediction is that there will be a Turkey style election. Elections will be biased in favor of the republican candidate. If the vote count is close in a swing state, the supreme court will find a way to make the electoral votes go towards the republican candidate. But if there is a landslide democratic win, I believe republicans wouldn’t be able to do much. And hopefully the military will recognize the democratic candidate as the next president, like they did in 2020 with Biden.

Maybe I’m in denial, but I don’t see the US get worse than Turkey. The US also has federalism, meaning the federal government cant exactly do anything they feel like. State governments can resist, if they have the will to.

I’d like to see the percent of undervotes for Trump in swing states, relative to the rest of the nation. Republicans are not known to abandon congressional and local elections, especially when they’re on the same ballot.
