Federation of deletions when the moderator deleting a post isn’t on the same instance as the community is hosted is mostly broken at the moment but should be fixed in the next release of the Lemmy software.
I’ve had this happen many times. I suspect the removal doesn’t propagate to other instances, or at least mine.
