Mine is probably the crane or the jumping frog at this point, but I’m probably overlooking a ton of other cool traditional models. Anyone else have any they like to fold?
Came across this from browsing all, and it’s been a long time since I’ve folded paper, but I tended to like the utility items - cool boxes and such. Combining art and function has always been my favorite
I like boxes. They are simple, useful and exist in many variation. When I started origami I loved being able to make a object that’s more than decoration out of a sheet of paper. Especially when I didn’t had any more place on my desk to exposed the other models.
This is one of my favorites - the traditional crane crossed with a Kawasaki rose - by Satoshi Kamiya
My go-to for “testing” new paper is this flower:
It’s a pretty nifty design. Is it traditional?
Yes it is! I learned this one about 25 years ago, so i had to hunt for the instructions: https://origami.guide/origami-flowers/origami-lily/
