Seems like there was a brief to the journos after last night’s negative result.
Various journos have come out saying basically the same thing:
[Ducker - T1] Manchester United want Rasmus Hojlund for start of Premier League as £51.4m deal offered
[Jamie Jackson - T2] Manchester United confident of signing Rasmus Højlund before season starts
[Simon Stone - T1] Rasmus Hojlund: Manchester United hopeful of deal before Premier League begins

[Laurie Whitwell -T1] Manchester United planning how Rasmus Hojlund would be used if fee agreed with Atalanta. Club aiming for striker to join before start of Premier League season. Erik ten Hag says blank v Real Madrid “absolutely” shows why new CF needed.

We’re not far off their evaluation and the player has agreed terms. It’s a matter of time 👍🏻 hopefully he can hit the ground running. We really need someone that can put away all the chances we create
Edit: great summary post btw!
I agree, definitely worth doing these for briefs rather than a bunch of posts saying the same thing
I don’t really like assurances from one side of a deal before it’s done. Let’s get it over the line already.
Atalanta did just sign a Striker for close to 30m euros, so it seems this Hojlund Saga is getting close to being done.
Aha, that is actually encouraging to hear!
