Louisiana voters will decide whether to empower state lawmakers to establish new state-run specialty courts, such as a statewide business court, that operate alongside the traditional judiciary.

They are going to have cheese plates with fancy cheeses you have never heard of in business court.

It’ll be nice for corporations to no longer go through the hassle of pre-emptively filing suit in order to choose a nice venue /s

As far as I can tell all it does is create a system just for business cases. Nothing else is different.

      You see something I don’t?

My point is that we already have circuit courts specifically for business law, and businesses steer suits into those courts so they can have judges that are knowledgable (and favorable)

What point are you even trying to make here? So much of this is nonsensical.

We. Already. Have. Circuit. Courts. That. Predominantly. Handle. Cases. Involving. Businesses. And. Businesses. Steer. Suits. Towards. Those. Judges.

If you still can’t understand you’re simply naive. We already have this, it just takes a little extra effort from Nestle or Pepsi

You know people can see when you edit your post, right? Massively changing your post after the fact then insulting me isn’t going to garner you points.

Let’s pretend that not everyone is intimately familiar with Lousiana’s court system. They obviously had some method of handling such cases because suggesting otherwise is ridiculous. Unless you’re suggesting the purpose of the new system is just to create admin jobs and confusion among litigants, they at least believe there is a benefit to having a separate system. The article makes it sound like things’ll be easier and quicker for those that need it. Google says there are only 5 circuit courts in Louisiana. That’s pretty spread out for an entire state. There are a lot more businesses than just conglomerates like Nestlé, Google, and Tesla.
