He did pardon almost everybody he could. In 2022 and again in 2023 he pardoned all federal marijuana related crimes below trafficking.

If you were convincted of state level weed related crimes, you will have to take it up with your governor.

Which makes it kind of ironic.

In a way, Biden had the right idea, just a total lack of energy and good branding when it came to execution.

Biden would have been such a good republican president…

Drug related offenses are overwhelmingly state level crimes. The office of the President can only pardon federal level crimes. This is a feature of our system of checks and balances, not a bug.

How come all the checks and balances we all learned about work when it comes to keeping people in prison for drug crimes, but they don’t work on keeping fascists from government… 🤷‍♀️

It’s because the system of check and balances was designed assuming the people within the system are acting in good faith. The republicans are not, as as such can abuse the system and the people who are acting in good faith

There is also the discussion of how our system is designed to let the people who have power keep that power

But notably just one white guy who happens to be the son of a president gets pardoned for crack…

He was not pardoned for any drug use or possession, but rather for gun charges and tax evasion.

He was given immunity for any federal crime committed since 2014. That prolly includes some crack binges.

Only if he did it in Washington DC, on federal land. If he was in Delaware or Maryland or any other state (not Native American Reservation) they were probably state level drug offenses.

If I was the president’s son I’d be hammering down intoxicants on the whitehouse lawn regularly.

What an amazing experience that would be. Beats acid on a golf course for sure.

Oh wait no right the ‘gun charge’ was for not disclosing he did crack on a form that’s riiiight. Next you’re going to tell me the gun charge wasn’t for concealed carry of a massive hog.

He lied on the form, doesn’t matter why, it was a crime. He came to an agreement to plead guilty with the prosecution that was thrown out. If he were anyone other than the president’s son, it wouldn’t have been, and he is at personal risk from a justice department with no accountability or integrity and a mandate to punish the soon-to-be president’s political enemies, only because he is the soon-to-be-former president’s son.

This has nothing to do with drugs.

Complain to your congressman about your drug problems, the president has no authority to resolve them for you.

Correct, that’s what the charge was for, lying on the gun form (also there’s one for tax evasion, but that’s not relevant here). The lie was about using crack, but the charge was for lying on the form, not for crack use.

I love how people get so high up their high horse’s ass as if they wouldn’t do the same if they could. I know I would.

Especially knowing the circumstances. Trump won the election. Let’s be real, what kind of good father would let his son be a convict under the fat orange turd’s regime, particularly being the son of the former president, and of the opposition; Joe Biden is not only coming to the end of his presidency. He’s also coming to the end of his life. I sure as fuck would pardon my kid under these circumstances, while I had the power. And I bet most of the people who bitch and whine about it would do it too.

Andy Beshear has the ability to pardon state level crimes, which counts for an overwhelming majority of drug related offenses. Biden did the same thing as far as his federal level powers allow.
