Will kids still be interested in it by then? Kids are so fickle.
If I am remembering correctly the creator was working on Peppa Pig and decided to go back home and design an Australian cartoon with a similar model.
Obviously its no guarantee of Bluey’s success but it looks like Peppa has been running since 2004.
Is long as they don’t include too many references to the fad of the moment (e.g.flossing) they can be evergreen as new kids age into the target demographic.
My son was two when Bluey started and while he has aged of following it closely he still checks out the new episodes two or three times a year with a sense of nostalgia.
He was an animator on Peppa Pig, yeah. I don’t think he ever had any creative control.
It’s remarkable to me how much better Bluey is than Peppa. Kids have no taste, but hopefully that quality keeps Bluey at least as popular as the pig.
Joe Brumm, who created “Bluey,” is writing and directing the film.
This is the only real detail that isn’t already in the headline
And frankly the only one that matters, assuming they can get the voice cast signed on for it.
Edit: and maybe even if they can’t. The kids are going to age out of their roles at some point anyway, and while Bandit’s and Chilli’s voices are iconic and perfect, I think if I had to choose I’d rather have Brumm writing and someone else doing the voices than someone else voicing the parents and Brumm out.
Soooo farrrrr.
