Good, kind, and nice are not the same thing.
In the never spoken words of Batman: it’s lawful good, not lawful nice.
And so it goes when you set impossible standards for yourself built on a misinterpretation of what it means to be a “good person.”
I would say being a good person also means being good to yourself. Politely excuse yourself in that situation.

Tbh anyone who thinks they’re “a good person” tends to just be projection.
If you have to put conscious effort into being good, you’re not good natured.
