The report suggests these assets would be “better positioned as a consolidated, linear-focused vehicle with scale benefits that can drive affiliate and advertising negotiation as well as synergies.”

I thought you just strung together that corporate buzz bomb as satire, then I looked at the article.

People who think and speak that way are making decisions about creative content…and not understanding why so much of it sucks.

kinda reads like they’re becoming a boring tv channel.

i’m paraphrasing but this article is pretty much saying “let’s just ditch all original content & rely on syndication of older shows the younger generations don’t give a shit about & also keep a focus on advertising revenue.”

    good luck w that 🏴‍☠️

I mean younger folks don’t generally have cable anyways, and Comedy Central and MTV have relied on cheap programming like reruns and reality tv for at least 15 years

For like a decade they took over the role of producing comedy specials when HBO got out of the game, but that niche seems to have been filled by Netflix recently.

I always liked comedy central as a tween because they allowed “fuck” uncensored after like 11pm

Paramount to rebrand to “2nd-Rate” TV?
