Israel has dropped 85,000 tons of bombs on Gaza since October 2023. Amazed that they would be “terrified” by one measly missile.
They do think they suffer greatly because they have to leave the beach or café sometimes to go to a shelter. Meanwhile 40 km down the coast people are freezing to death in tents that get swamped with sea water.
I’m really sorry for the innocent people of Israel. Their prime minister doesn’t give a shit even if Israeli people were to die.
The “innocent” (not many are really innocent) people of Israel don’t give much of a shit either. I mean they care a bit more than Netanyahu, but not enough to push for Palestinian freedom.
Even the not so innocent ones… I don’t think even people who are in favor of horrors deserve to be victims of horrors themselves, but apparently they’re going to start learning why you shouldn’t be perpetrating them yourself.
I’ll be honest: While it’d be better if they struck military targets instead (I mean they’re attacking Tel Aviv so places like the IDF HQ or the Mossad HQ are right there), this is prime leopards ate my face material.

Every side is the asshole in that regional conflict - it’s like as if the cultivated thought, that there are opposing groups which don’t share compatible ideas, is the issue. And the civilian population suffers.

You don’t have to condone any terrorist attacks to recognize the obvious fact that Israeli oppression and military aggression are the main culprits. Especially given the fact that they’re literally the only party with the power to end it one way or the other.
I don’t see the connection between your ant/boy example and the series of wars and conflicts between Israel and the surrounding nations and organisations (Egypt, Palestine, Hamas, Lebanon, hesbollah, Iran, Jordan) let’s say since 1948. Would you elaborate on that?
I’m not very deep in the conflict, so please correct me. To me it looks like Israel is surrounded by states and organizations whose aim is to get rid of Israel because they are not Arab - hence Israel’s strong and expensive military. Israel on the other side is rigid on the status of the occupied palestinian territories and threatens to destroy everybody who dares to attack them. And they did that after the attacks in 2023, including all the war crimes they committed.
No party did nearly enough to defuse the situation before 2023. And the result is another round of human suffering and more hate and anger. That’s why I said: everyone is the asshole here.

Trying to have a discussion with someone who has very little knowledge of this issue is not an easy task, nor is simplifying it.
It is a long and complex history, and whoever you talk to is going to have different answers about how long it is, what happened, and why it happened.
While nuance and much important additional information is lost in Wikipedia articles, they are a very useful resource for understanding the main points, and they also tend to be one of the least biased sources. If you are genuinely interested in learning more, this is a good place to start:

These conflicts would not exist if Europeans didn’t send Jews to the middle east to make it “their problem.”
These conflicts wouldn’t exist if Zionists (religious nationalists) left their stolen land. There’s plenty of room in the United States for them.

See? There it is. The cultivated thought of groups with insurmountable differences - in this case a theological belief, it could as well be the color of the skin or some way of life. The forming of arbitrary groups, sides, us and them. It’s just an arbitrary classification, there is no difference between jews or muslims that hinders them to live next to each other.
(It’s more complicated than that yes. There are always shades of grey.)
Zionism is mainly based on ethnicity and only uses religious motives as far as it seems beneficial, while blatantly ignoring other religious motives of Judaism. There is a lot of devoted religious Jews that strongly oppose the Zionist project as it contradicts the faith.
