A Chinese state-sponsored hacker has broken into the US Treasury Department’s systems, accessing employee workstations and some unclassified documents, American officials said on Monday.

You never hear about the US hacking China or Russia at the state level. Is the US that good, or just not playing?

Would China or Russia ever admit that they were hacked? I’m actually surprised the US said it, doesn’t seem like something you’d want regular people to be aware of.

There was stuxnet so they can be that good

I personally think there’s a lot of US backdoors in hardware and software distributed around the world, so it’s possible the US doesn’t need to be as active in hacking targets.

    “State sponsored” “china”…

No proof offered, seems like a badly run company got hacked by a bored teenager and this is the spin to not have finances audited and to cover up bribes to use said company in the first place.

Pardon: I’ve become cynical in my old age, here and there

Man, if they really wanted to do some praxis and fuck with capital, they would destroy all the debt records they could find. It would be such chaos for the parasitic class.

Chaos, my ass. They’d just use the occasion to “recalculate” the debts to higher numbers.

Well I’m not surprised they got hacked. It was only last year or so they got rid of the awful on screen keyboard for treasurydirect. They like their websites 30 years behind the cutting edge
