I actually really like how they subverted that song for the film.
I expected a song here in the book, thanks to the movie. But no song came.
Thus a song did not exist, until a Hobbit from the Shire, Pippin stood first in the halls of man.
Between you and me, I believe that tomato was a foreshadowing of the absolute annihilation of Denethor’s sanity as the song struck the final blow for the once great man’s poor mental state. /s BUT IS IT
