The Computer doesn’t make me feel bad for my hobbies.
The Computer doesn’t question my life choices. The Computer doesn’t judge me on appearance. The Computer tells me if we have a problem right away. The Computer doesn’t cancel plans at the last second. The Computer is there for me if I need it. The Computer doesn’t forget what made it fun in the first place. The Computer doesn’t make me feel neglected.Maybe if people would be a little nicer to each other we wouldn’t have to replace them with screens.
It’s 1:50 am into the new year:

What have you done for 21 minutes? Such a waste!
Yeeeaaahh, we really did turn a tool which was supposedly meant to enhance our performance in the real world into a world of its own, that’s often mentally addictive and exploitative.
At the same time, the real world is properly fucked right now, where individuals are highly isolated from one another and there are financial barriers at every turn. I don’t blame folks who get stuck in a spot where they only have people they want to interact with online.
I heard a cool theory that said basically: we’re pretty well into our techno sci-fi future that we promised in scifi media and stuff. But what we didn’t expect is that the techno future reuses the same architecture and building stuff from the 1970s, the only discernable difference is that there’s a screen in every room and tech in everything and the real future is in that virtual world inside those that’s completely invisible to someone from the 1970s
Yeah, the internet was a mistake.
The Internet is the greatest thing to ever happen. It’s united the world massively and enabled education and communication for many.
The mistake is letting governments and corporations control it.
My new years resolution is to become more chronically online than I am now. Wish me luck.
Your last post was 9 hours ago! What are you even doing?
Good luck.
You can do this! I believe!
Maybe life isn’t binary choices arbitrarily dreamed up so you can Boomer-judge others to deflect your projecting from your own insecurities.
Hey hey, no judgements here
Only Zuul
I’ll be a ghost in the machine
I plan on becoming a ghost in the machine when I die just so I can stay on the computer forever.
If it works, make all the phones ring
There’s a dude who’s been collecting pay phones since they started being removed from city streets and such; gonna scare the bejesus outta him when all those disconnected phones start rininging.
I need to rewatch that movie, it’s been a while. I wonder if it holds up. Great ending.
The live-action one is pretty great. The anime is very dated. If you’re going to watch the anime, then get a subtitled version. The dub voice acting is awful.
This is great
You are great!
You’re all breathtaking!
Wake up, neo.
If gaming is what you enjoy.
