First build of the new year is the P-Bandai HGAC Altron. This is, of course, TV Altron which is the superior Altron. I’m normally all for ver Ka redesigns, but Katoki made a mistake here replacing the original folding shoulder mechanism for the accordian arms.
Also, part of the reason I ordered this kit was because I was curious how they gave it the ability to t-pose, because I have a MG Shenlong that I slapped the old 1/100 HG Altron shoulders onto and wanted to see if I could give it some better articulation there. Turns out the socket for the shoulder inside the torso swings up, instead of forward like with most kits. So that would have required completely re-engineering the MG torso inner frame, which, uh, is way beyond my skill set. Sad.

I’m still kinda salty about wu-fei’s lineup in kit selection. His suit line really gets it the worst out of the 5 gundams and really the 7 main suits from the show I feel like, but I could be wrong there.
It gets better; that’s my work laptop, and it also doubles as my cutting board.

I kind of glossed over all of the Glory of the Losers designs so I’m probably missing context, but he seems to be a solid #3 behind Heero and Duo. Sandrock and Heavyarms barely got upgrades for the back half of the TV series, whereas Shenlong got a palette swap, a second dragon arm, wings, the scorpion tail thing, and upgraded from a glaive to a double-ended trident. The old 1/100 Shenlong/Altron HGs were pretty decent for their time, and the new Altron HG seems solid (stupid shoulder stickers on Shenlong though).
