Summary
The FAA will continue enhanced oversight of Boeing indefinitely, following a January 2024 incident where a door panel missing key bolts flew off an Alaska Airlines 737 MAX 9 mid-flight.
The incident exposed safety issues and prompted a safety and quality improvement plan from Boeing, including new random quality audits and increased inspection points.
FAA Administrator Mike Whitaker cited the need for a cultural shift prioritizing safety over profits and introduced stricter audits and monthly reviews.
The company remains under scrutiny after prior safety failures, including fatal 737 MAX crashes, and faces legal and financial repercussions.
well. For the next… uh. what? Fifteen days, give or take?
If only there was a name for the government to have oversight over a company to ensure the safety of consumers…
Until next month
Too little too late. Who is going to oversee the FAA to make sure they aren’t fucking around?
We can blame Boeing all we want but it’s the FAA that is ultimately responsible and they have proven they aren’t capable.
Musk will oversee the FAA. Because he’s getting sick and tired they do all the “rules and regulations FoR sAfEtY” and shit, so the department of government efficiency will defund the FAA. It’s all good! I mean, there will be some planes falling from the sky, but at least starship will hopefully get a banana in full orbit for another 3bln tax dollars.
