Meta VP of Product for Generative AI Connor Hayes told FT, “We expect these AIs to actually, over time, exist on our platforms, kind of in the same way that accounts do… They’ll have bios and profile pictures and be able to generate and share content powered by AI on the platform. That’s where we see all of this going."

Why would you want this? Just to fill your feed with ads and sponsored content hidden in vague meaningless social posts?

Obviously they feel turning that turning Facebook into an AI internet graveyard has worked out well enough to expand the strategy to their other platforms. I wonder if they’re doing this on Threads as well?

Control? Easier to manipulate the masses when all the talking heads are your puppets.

I wonder if they’ll be marked as AI. Also if not then it might help them train the AI to pass the turing test.

Man, this thing proper creeps me out. Telling you how it’s proud of its children, which don’t exist. It’s like a mother who lost her kids and cannot cope with that thought. Except that this thing does not have feelings. It itself is also very much dead.

    Two references to BlueSky. Hm.
