It’s a weird sort of “black and white” thinking. Like if you admit that something could be worse than what Trump did you’re saying what Trump did was “okay” or something. I guarantee you some people who voted me down feel like I’m defending Trump by pointing out that “an angry mob” is not in the same league as “a military coup”.
The situation wasn’t this extreme in the US, and Trump has the support of a good portion of Congress and the people.
So how many exactly were killed in South Korea? And how many at the White House?
I’d say what Trump did is absolutely just as extreme, and at least as illegal, probably more.There are school shooters with higher death tolls, that doesn’t make them a bigger threat to the nation.
Can you imagine the chaos if Trump not only declared martial law but the military also complied? We’re talking US troops guarding the capitol, not angry rednecks breaking in. Different ballgame.
Weird place to draw the line. I would say an actual military coup is multiple magnitudes more dangerous than a couple dead people. Even if you think a disorganized group of rioters were going to kill some Congressmen, Yoon’s coup actually had plans to use the military to do that.
