Welcome to the 24 hour pledge! I’m pledging myself to not drinking today, and invite you to do the same.
Maybe you’re new to c/stop drinking and have a hard time deciding what to do next. Maybe you’re like me and feel you need a daily commitment or maybe you’ve been sober for a long time and want to inspire others.
It doesn’t matter if you’re still hung over from a three day bender or been sober for years, if you just woke up or have already completed a sober day. For the next 24 hours, let’s not drink alcohol!
day 4 and finally back to work
Been California sober for over 5 years now, but am currently on a tolerance break, and ooh boy. Watched a youtube video yesterday that talked about how all those studies saying that “a little alcohol can be good for you” were incorrect, and that alcohol in any quantity is always bad for you. but even while it made those iron-clad conclusions, it showed beer with bubbles, and made me long for the days I could drink a few while doing chores around the house, much like how I use THC now.
Been a real rough time for me lately in general, which makes me wonder why I’m even tempting fate with this tolerance break, but I’m at least a creature of habit, and my habit is to not drink, so I will not.
Here’s to another day 100% stone sober. Today is Leg day at the gym, so I’ll do that.
Moderation doesn’t work. It’s a slippery slope, if you have ever seen one.
It’s good that you stay clear of that way, friend. You are a better person when you are not out of your mind. Get a hug if you need one.
