Summary

Mike Pence’s advocacy group, Advancing American Freedom (AAF), opposes Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s nomination as Secretary of Health and Human Services, citing concerns about his inconsistent abortion stance.

Despite Kennedy’s reassurances to pro-life leaders and pledges to reinstate Trump-era policies, AAF doubts his commitment to pro-life values, emphasizing his past support for abortion access.

Trump’s endorsement has divided conservatives, with some defending Kennedy’s potential, while others see it as a risk.

Kennedy’s lack of public health credentials and history of spreading misinformation also face widespread criticism.

Usually, there isn’t really that much divisiveness in conservative politics because they are, well, not progressive at all. Progress fundamentally comes with finding new ways of dealing with issues and bringing awareness to ignored topics, so the progressives always have to discuss and debate to find the way forward. Conservatives don’t, they just infight sometimes if they feel they got sidelined as to show power.

Killing children after birth by spreading vaccine misinformation and conspiracy theories is fine, though.

Children are only holy when inside the belly. Once they come out, all bets are off.

Good. Even if it is for stupid reasons. Abortion stance? WTAF. Good grief, the forced birthers are stupid.

Anyway, Brainworms has absolutely zero credentials and would be actively harming Americans (and not just Americans if his anti-vaxxer nonsense spreads).

For all the talk of American Christian nationalism, it sure seems like “Christian Republicans” have been dropped like a rock.

Again, look at Trump’s cabinet. There’s lip service, but do you see many “Pence” kind of bible thumper characters there? Is there any groundswell of support for Pence here, who is clearly on their side? I sure don’t see it.

They’ve got fascist misogynists who reference the Bible, which to the casual observer (or Republican voter), are hard to distinguish from actual Christian Nationalists, but none of these people actually worship anything other than the dollar and absolute power.

He got this right and also didn’t block the election certification 4 years ago. So yeah, that tracks pretty will.

To be fair, he couldn’t legally block it anyways. But he would’ve cause some chaos before the senate just get the pres protem to do it anyways, bypassing pence.

Because he checks notes has zero influence on confirmation hearings.

Obligatory fuck Pence but I like any event that makes RFK less likely to be confirmed because he’s seemingly the most palatable by political standards of the Crony Crew so if we can stop him we can stop anyone.
