This is my favorite of the female cardinals I get to my yard. She’s been coming around a few years now, and I always grind the contrast of her beak and flight and tail feathers very beautiful. I don’t ever recall seeing so much red on a female, so she always stands out to me.
I think the photos came out nice for someone that doesn’t know what they’re doing and just slides the photo settings until it looks good to me.
She looks as if she’s surprised by being photographed! Great photos.
“Don’t take pictures of me while I’m eating!” 😱
Darned paparazzi!
I am a fan. Thank you for this bird.
I’m glad you like it! I’m a bit nervous around my own pictures. I don’t know much of anything photography related, I have the cheapest of gear, and I feel my editing touch is too heavy to try to make up for it.
The reaction I’ve been getting in this community though has been nothing but positive and it encourages me to keep trying.
This is one of my favorite individual birds and the only one I can pick out by sight, so I really wanted to do her justice. It’s not often the female songbirds are the ones that stand out, but from the first time I saw her, I really enjoyed her colors and I’m happy every day she comes by.
