Saw suggestions for the icon before, actually really cool it got official!
I only tangentially see 196 content on Lemmy, I’m old, barely understand it but enjoy it; can someone explain like I’m 5 what’s happened here to cause 196 to change to onehundredninetysix?
The 196 mods had some disagreements with the blahaj admins which made them leave to .world which many people saw critical who stayed on blahaj and made this onehundredninetysix thing.

Me too. I’m not deep enough in the drama to take one side. I like the decentralized structure of the fediverse so I prefere a smaller instance but I’m not going to boycott .world either. I guess it would be different for me if they went to .ml.
