Destroying a democracy from within requires you to first purge the opposition, replace the leftovers with loyalists, and then call yourself the Chancellor.
The last time this happened my country fell in 18 days to the Nazis.
Sure he wants to shrink the size of the government. OR maybe he wants to replace them with loyalists.
Not only could this take an axe to the idea of a functional government, irreparably damage institutional knowledge and leave more room for incompetent fascist stooges, but 7 months pay is a huge waste of taxpayer money.
The speed at which russia is dismantling the US government is really something.

He’s offering to keep paying them to do their jobs but they have to agree to leave at the end of the fiscal year. They don’t get the money upfront
