Those little characters look so out of place next to that graphic, beautifully detail painting of the dead snake

that was part of the charm. At the time it made these events feel more shocking, to come from the genteel brightly colored chocobo farm and the village of Kalm into this.

You’d experienced the murders in ShinRa tower, escaped heroically and had a nice time wandering through the countryside before feeling sucked back into danger here.

Man, what a great early gaming experience.

Looks like if you get in power and fire everybody, planes do exactly like Twitter, they crash.

Holy shit, I forgot about this scene. Which disc was this? Could we potentially see this in part 3 of the remake?

It’s from the section after you finally get a Chocobo and cross the lake. I think the reason it’s so impactful is because if you’re playing normally you’ve probably had your whole party one-shotted by that snake at least once. Then you cross and see not only has it been killed, it’s been put on fucking display to warn you. Brilliant scene.

Because they changed some plot stuff in the remake. I’m sure you would recognize it if you see it again.

I just played through the scene in the remake the other day. So I know the snake on a stick is there.
