Mind you, it causes damages to Republican-leaning parts of the state.

This sounds a lot more like “gee, that dam is half way between the north and the south, I’ll order it to dump water” without knowing anything about where that water goes afterwards.

It causes damage to the States that rely on federal funding and support. California contributes a LOT directly to many red states.

              I am contemplating this scenario:

California says “we can’t contribute no more due to needing our own funds” … Trump says: “you’ll pay …or… tariffs!”

MAGA assholes were practically dancing in the streets during the L.A. Fires. They’ll be giddy if Orange Hitler can burn the entire state to the ground.

It has barely rained around me this winter. I’m sure this won’t bite us in the ass later this year when it’s 107 and the state is burning again.

That article is really struggling hard to avoid bluntly saying that there was absolutely fuck-all reason to release the water. “Unclear,” my ass – it’s blatantly obvious that, without even any vaguely plausible good reason, the only reason that remains is malice: to deliberately fuck over the state by depriving it of water it’s gonna need later.

This is such a stupid fucking idea. They’ve had a dry winter already. Shits gonna be bad for water come this summer and if they have a dry summer they’re pretty much fucked.

A drought? Put some white spray paint over it.

This is very bad…summer this year is going to be very expensive for water.

According to federal data, the flow from Terminus Dam into the Kaweah River near Visalia increased from 57 cubic feet per second to more than 1,500 on Friday morning. The flow from Lake Success near Porterville into the Tule River increased from 105 cubic feet per second to 990.

    Holy fucking shit.
