Agreed. Although, given what we know about that crash… FAA changes in the last several years probably had nothing to do with it. It’s almost surely going to end up being some sort of maintenance issue or possibly pilot error. Crashes immediately after takeoff usually are one of those.
Issues in flight, like doors flying off, etc. are more indicative of deeper issues.
You know, I’m think’n it’s a bad idea to fly anywhere for a while.
It still may be statistically safer than any other method, even if there’s a daily issue. What will begin happening is lots of delays and problems due to shortcuts, which is not as bad as a crash but far more restrictive for reliable use.
Whole lot of Americans thinking the same way. I’m sure that will help the economy, just like these tariffs and deporting furriners…
I’m thinking I’m going to be terrified the entire time my wife is flying domestically to get to this side of the pond whenever that happens.
The entire purpose is to control and disrupt the transportation system, making it easier to control and close when the shit hits the fan.

A lot of this is because we are so used to things, by and large, just working. No one trying to dismantle this shit realizes the level of complexity and the years it took to assemble.
The problems of our past will now be the problems of our future, because the people in the back not paying attention decided they knew better.
