The headline sounds like they were going to try to somehow stop it but what happened was the 3rd party app store called it “the first Apple-approved porn app” and Apple was like “uhhhh no…”
In marketing for the app, AltStore referred to Hot Tub as “the first Apple-approved porn app,” and Apple has taken issue with the wording.

The whole thing is dumb. This “app” could’ve been a website.
Of course, it all smells more like a marketing trick, “look what we have, switch to alt” bragging.
