Hii everyone! I’m a 32yr old CD from Australia. I’m really wanting to book a 2 week holiday overseas (solo trip) that I intend to spend completely en-femme. Where would you suggest I look at? I would prefer a more urban environment rather than beachy, I don’t really have that kind of confidence yet.
Pick is of me, sorry I couldn’t think of anything else to put there.
Also sorry if this isn’t the right place to be asking, I didn’t know where else to ask. TIA
Try Western European countries, if it’s not too far? For example, Netherlands has beautiful cities, and LGBTQ+ rights are currently pretty strong. However, there’s always the chance you might run into a moron that feels attacked by other people’s decisions :(
I was looking at this! I would actually also love to visit Estonia one day too, I heard they are very progressive with LGBTQ+ rights, at least around Tallin
Avoid the US, it’s dangerous AF right now
I’d recommend Toronto if you don’t mind cold weather
I loooove cold weather!! The colder the better haha. I’m doing some research into Toronto now, thanks for the recommendation!
Thailand possibly? I know a number of trans women who have travelled there from Aus for bottom surgery.
Yeah I think Bangkok is the obvious pick, and probably my fallback option if I can decide on anywhere else
You could check out several places in Canada. We have several distinct regions to choose from, east coast (maritime provinces), west coast (Vancouver/Rocky Mountains), prairies (Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan - these are very conservative areas), central (Ontario, Quebec has lots of old architecture and although a french province the tourist areas are english. Our govt also has these suggestions https://travel.gc.ca/travelling/health-safety/lgbt-travel might give you some ideas on what to look for if going to other countries
Thanks for the recommendation! Canada is very high on my list, seems like such a beautiful country with beautiful people
Norway is wonderful for LGBTQ+ travel, pretty much everyone is able to speak fluent English, and the natural beauty of the country itself is breathtaking, even in the urban areas!
I’ll definitely have to look into Norway a bit more! Thankyou
As a Singaporean maybe Singapore? It’s pretty safe and quite urbanized, although you’ll probably get bored within the week or so. Another option is Japan - that’s also pretty solo friendly
Yeah I would just feel like I’m going to work in Singapore haha. Japan I think would be a great option!
I wish I could recommend my country South Africa, since our constitution protects LGBTQI+ rights, but I only know of a handful of CD, and like the only Transgender person I know is a bit ostracised, but this is in a rural town in the north. But if you really would like to come, Cape Town is the place to be, very progressive, beautiful and the last two times I was there I did not even visit the beach with all the other things to do there. But I cannot guarantee you won’t experience discrimination here.
I haven’t really visited other countries yet so I do not know if I can recommend any place I could really recommend.
While I would absolutely love to visit South Africa one day, I don’t think I would be confident at all to visit en-femme
I agree, this trip is about you going out and having confidence while enjoying yourself. Go somewhere you know you will flourish. Best of luck and hope your trip, and following trips, are going to blow away your expectations and you grow as a result of it.
Not America, that much I know.
New Zealand maybe?
Not being in the scene I have almost no idea where is safe these days.
Yeah, the US is definitely off my list for now.
NZ I honestly don’t have much interest in visiting either. Thanks for the suggestions though!
Fair enough.
I found it pretty, and the rail trail was good. It’s fairly close to fly to.
