It probably wouldn’t work with Lemmy, but kbin users could do it. Might give the fediverse more attention, but it would need to be more original than a r/place clone.
I hope not - or at least not for a long time. There are too many core features and functions missing to spend time on stuff like that right now, IMO.
I agree. I find the culture here to be significantly better than reddit, but it still needs a-lot of work before they attempt something like r/place.
I wonder how it would even work with other instances though? It seems like that might be difficult to federate…
You could maybe make a magazine where each post represents a pixel and you can comment a color to change it then make an app interface that visualises the canvas when you enter the magazine and automatically posts for you when you click a pixel to change its color. That way each instance could take part in the canvas making if they wanted to.
I kind of don’t like that idea. I come to KBin for purist Reddit-esque discussions and link sharing, and anything more would just be clutter. As it is, I already ignore the microblog.
Those centralised events, and they are fun because they are centralised.
Someone could start an event, and many can join. But it will never be all emcompassing centralised.
I only saw this post but it looks like your wish is granted
