Mod of “[email protected]” community bans a user for calling nazis “worthless piece of shit” - which is a highly factual assessment.

Du to Feddit.org being a German instance we have to follow German laws, which means we have to remove illegal contents. This comment did violate German law by being incitement to people.

    § 130 StGB

Anyone who, in a manner likely to disturb the public peace,
    1.
incites hatred against a national, racial, religious or ethnic group, against sections of the population or against an individual because of their membership of a designated group or a section of the population, incites violence or arbitrary measures, or
    2.
attacks the human dignity of others by insulting, maliciously denigrating or slandering a designated group, parts of the population or an individual because of their membership of a designated group or part of the population,

The comment was in A Manner to disturb the public by being a public post. It attacks the human dignity by dehumanising a group based on their world view. Under current German law this is incitement to people.

Even if you may agree with the message behind this comment you have to understand, that the mods devinetively had to remove this to not make them vulnerable against the German laws.

Since 3 people were mentioned in the description and Vance only indirectly in a quote, I guess it was simply a misunderstanding which of those three the user was referring to.

Vance’s attack on European democracy in Munich, perversely twisting the language of democracy itself should leave no doubt whatsoever that the aim of this administration is to destroy the EU and its liberal democracies," said Nathalie Tocci, director of Istituto Affari Internazionali think tank.

Responding to Vance’s speech, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius told the conference: “If I understood him correctly he is comparing parts of Europe with authoritarian regimes. This is not acceptable.”

But instead of trying to appeal the ban they started a PTB post…

He said the nazis are pieces of shit - and he was banned for “dehumanising” comment.

He was clearly referring to Vance speech.

Can’t say if they were referring to Vance’s speech. And we in Germany are very on edge when it comes to accusations, so without clear indications who was meant we can only assume the worst. (Wouldn’t be the first time Pistorius was discredit as a fascists, free speech being censored etc.)

Have we read the same post?

              Post he was commenting on:

Vance’s attack on European democracy in Munich, perversely twisting the language of democracy itself

… and then his comment in his FIRST sentence referring to fascists pretending that they are defending a free speech. Anyone with a half brain would understand he was clearly referring to Vance.

Irrespectively, this is not what he was banned for. He was banned for calling nazis pieces of shit which in mod’s view was dehumanising. Fucking ridiculous.

That sentence you quoted is already a direct quote by someone else, Nathalie Tocci in this case.
