Does anybody knows how long it takes to sign up for the Lemmy.ml instance with an account? It would give me the green wheel and I don’t know if I have to wait “x” amount of time or it’s just not possible at this time.

    I’m not sure. I know lemmy.ml has been up and down ever since the Reddit blackout.

    Why join it? It is supper overloaded these days. You can access the same content from lemmy.world (your instance) anyway

      Assuming all the instances will forever be kept, I would join the smallest one. But you never know…

    My lemmy.ml account was approved a few hours after I applied. I think they just look at your application to check that you’re not likely to be a spammer or bot. I don’t have the impression they especially try to screen randos for particular interest in the FOSS community, though maybe they do.
