And as the 2026 cycle inches closer, [Democratic strategist Jamal] Simmons said he expects donors to rally again.

Oh my god, they will never learn. They’re getting a clear signal from constituents and donors and they say, it’s OK, they’ll come back in 2026. The same tired playbook for the last decade: “Who are you going to vote for, a Republican?” Meanwhile their presidential nominee runs as a Mitt Romney cosplay.

Get these people out of here right now!

They would rather sit there and do nothing in the belief that voters will be scared into giving them money if only things get bad enough. The corrupt Democrat leadership and their parasitic consultants are just as villainous as the GOP. Completely out of touch and so afraid of challenges from progressives that they are willing to let the nation fall into autocracy.

I have not donated to the Democratic party for over a decade now, only to progressives, and I have absolutely no plans to donate a dime to them in 2026.

I will not donate any money to a party who’s leadership in the face of literal coup is taking about finding bipartisanship and who are going on about taking money from “good” billionaires.

I’ve certainly stopped donating after receiving multiple spam text messages from Democrats fundraising off the current crisis we’re in. It’s crass how they’re being so opportunistic.

If you text “stop” or block them, they just keep coming from some other phone number.

Also the bulk of them these days are some kind of scam. A lot of people worldwide have access to US citizens’ voter data. During the last election cycle, Democratic voters were beleaguered by a massive surge in spam messages claiming to be from the DNC, for a variety of scams including simple interception of funds.

Now that our own government is selling our data directly to international interests, and consumer protection agencies are being defunded, it seems unlikely to get better. Responding to, clicking on, or donating to any text claiming to be from DNC affiliates is probably a mistake. The bigger mistake though is rewarding the DNC for their incompetence and corruption. Only the squad (AOC and Sanders’ group of progressives) have integrity, so their donations must be made directly, not through the DNC.

Never donate directly to an advertisement, go find their actual web site and donate from there using a virtual card.

My personal donation strategy actually makes this more efficient by a couple of steps

Not giving a fuck is only more efficient in the short term.

They especially deserve it after they 1/3 voted against trans folks in congress and bootlicked for Israel.

The last few paragraphs describe exactly why the Democratic party is in shambles. Essentially, they just expect people to keep coming back. Kamala Harris had that saying she said about we’re not going back, and the Democratic party shouldn’t. Not that she is with the future, tho. Move ON! Get with the program.

Said one major donor: “I’ll be blunt here: The Democratic Party is fucking terrible. Plain and simple. In fact, it doesn’t get much worse.”

yes. yes it does. we’re in that inescapable timeline right now.

Remember to also save support for locals you do like, particularly progressive candidates in primaries and local elections (even shit like school board, etc). A dollar in those races make a much bigger difference than the billion squandered on the general.

This Confuses me! Why would Democrats NOT want to support the Republican Party? After all Democrats are doing EVERYTHING they can to Court Republicans instead of Democrats!

Of course. Because the Democrats had time to prepare for this. To feign some kind of acknowledgement of understanding for why they lost and they’re just deer in the headlights. Completely paralyzed by the moment.

Cool, okay. Well let’s all make a brand new party with blackjack and hookers. In fact, forget the new party.
