    Some of these folks are post bottom surgery. Which means they no longer produce endogenous hormones and that taking them off HRT is one of the cruelties happening here. Because we need either testosterone or estrogen in order to function well and be healthy.

    Of course, risk of assault is another.

        I chose my words carefully so it would be less triggering for folks who have experienced that kind of trauma. It wasn’t an attempt to minimize, but rather, to be mindful.

        For context, I did time in State prison. Was pretransition at the time. But had trans friends, and witnessed first hand what they went through being housed with cis men.

        My heart has been breaking over this issue since the inauguration. I just express it with tears rather than outrage.

    Last October there was a user going on about voting for Jill Stein and I said something like well you must hate women if you’re letting trump win, and they said actually i identify as a trans woman and I’ve thought about them a fair bit in the last six weeks.

        Yeah, I hate putting my trans homies and the misguided third party voters I hope to someday turn into Democratic party voters on blast, but

        I can’t argue with that.

        On a related note, I will never stop being infuriated by the screw ups of the Harris campaign and Democratic party that put us in this situation and lost those winnable votes. Layperson voters are going to be dumb and vote with their hearts because they’re laypeople, professionals who work for political campaigns should have known better than the campaign they ran.
